This is how Veronica Squinzi, CEO and general manager of Sassuolo, made her debut on the day of the official presentation of the new black-green coach Alberto Aquilani. The beginning of a different cycle, for the new 2026/27 season: "The club is experiencing a new era, a new phase in its history and I would like to thank Giovanni Carnevali very much for the extraordinary work of these 13 years and the path he has pursued with great determination has truly changed the history of this club and this club". However, there is also room for thanks to the professionals who are no longer here, given that they have taken other paths. Some on the Fiorentina bench and some, instead, as Juventus transfer man: "I would like to thank Fabio Grosso who brought us back to Serie A after just one year. My brother Marco and I, who is currently vice-president of the club, wanted to take on roles directly because we want to be even closer and guarantee the continuity that has never failed in all these years, first with my parents, now with me and my brother and the whole family, we are close to the club and we will continue to do so." Squinzi added: "We are aware that to grow it is important to invest in skills and we are concentrating on completing the organizational structure and we are working to expand these spaces with the purchase of new land which took place this week. We have always had the desire to do well and improve, the desire to grow is a fundamental value that belongs to our Mapei group and must also be so for Sassuolo and will continue to be the spirit that guides the club." Finally, space for the present and the immediate future with Aquilani at the helm: "With this spirit we open a new chapter with the new coach. For Alberto it is a return, with a different role, but with the same spirit he had when he played. In recent years he has represented a precise idea that fits with Sassuolo. We are convinced that he is the right person to lead this team and to continue a path that puts the game and the valorization of talent at the centre.
