Orgryte sporting director Pontus Farnerud has confirmed negotiations for Michael Parker, a midfielder linked to Celtic and other teams. The situation is becoming interesting on the market.
The Friulian club has completed two transfer operations to strengthen the midfield available to Kosta Runjaic. The new arrivals are Giorgi Chakvetadze and Unai Gomez.
Giorgi Chakvetadze, born in 1999, is an attacking midfielder gifted with great technique and creativity. His career began in Dinamo Tbilisi, but exploded in Belgium with Gent, where he showed his qualities before facing some physical problems that limited his continuity. Despite this, the player found his form between Slovan Bratislava and Watford, as well as making appearances for the Georgian national team. Chakvetadze is capable of playing as a number 10, but can also play the role of attacking midfielder or left winger. He loves receiving the ball between the lines, targeting the opponent and finishing off actions, rather than attacking the opponent's area. At home, before the emergence of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, he was considered a predestined, and his style of play may recall a more agile and less midfield-oriented Mkhitaryan.
On the other hand, Unai Gomez, born in 2003, is an attacking midfielder from Athletic Club Bilbao, where he made his La Liga debut in the 2023/24 season. The young Spaniard has already scored his first goal in San Mamés, demonstrating that he has a good eye for goal. Gomez is an aggressive and versatile player: despite being born as an attacking midfielder, he can also play the role of midfielder, left winger or central midfielder. He is not a pure playmaker, but rather a raider who could also expand his range of action, similar to what Rodrigo De Paul did during his experience in Udine, where he turned into a fundamental element for the team's play.
With these two new additions, Udinese aims to improve their competitiveness in the Serie A championship, trying to express a more dynamic and offensive game, in line with their coach's ideas. The arrival of Chakvetadze and Gomez could prove crucial for the future of the Friulian team in the difficult Italian football landscape.
