Rudiger excited to work with 'father' Mourinho at Real Madrid
Antonio Rudiger expresses enthusiasm for working with Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid, highlighting their shared combative style and reflecting on previous missed opportunities to collaborate.
Antonio Rudiger has said he is thrilled to be working with Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid, calling him his "football father". The Real Madrid defender in fact gave an interview to DAZN after Germany's defeat against Ecuador at the World Cup, stating: «Enthusiastic about working with Mourinho? Let's think about the World Cup and then I'll go to my father! Rudiger also added: «I can't say too much, but I can say that I'm very excited. I will finally play under him. There were many talks with him in the past, but for some reason it never happened. That's why now I'm even happier to have him with us." Rudiger and Mourinho will meet again at Real Madrid next season, after Mourinho was recalled to the Merengues bench. Rudiger, who has signed a contract renewal with Real Madrid until 2027, has already made 182 appearances for the Spanish team, winning 8 trophies, including a Champions League and a La Liga.
