Frank Onyeka has set his sights on helping Coventry City "stay in the Premier League" after completing his move from Brentford. The midfielder joined Coventry last January on a loan deal, which included a clause to make the transfer permanent in the event of the Sky Blues' promotion. Onyeka played 14 games as Frank Lampard's side won the league and celebrated their return to the top flight after a 25-year absence. Now, the 28-year-old isn't just aiming for survival with the West Midlands club, who begin their Premier League campaign away to champions Arsenal on August 21. “We are pleased to announce that Frank Onyeka has signed a permanent contract with the Club.” — Coventry City (@Coventry_City) [June 29, 2026] “I'm really excited about the new season with Coventry,” Onyeka told the club's media channels. "When I arrived here last season, I had two goals: to win the league and help Coventry get promoted to the Premier League. I'm very happy to now be a Coventry player, back in the Premier League. I will give everything for the team, I will fight for every ball, for my teammates and I will bring my experience. My ambition now is to help the team stay in the Premier League and finish as high as possible."
