The Udine Prosecutor's Office has requested two years' imprisonment for the president of Udinese, Franco Soldati, and the vice-president, Stefano Campoccia, who is also a member for Serie A - together with Giorgio Chiellini (Juventus) and Giuseppe Marotta (Inter) - of the newly reconfirmed FIGC federal council. During the preliminary hearing before the Gup of the Court of Udine, a fine of 500 thousand euros was also requested for the Udinese Calcio club. The requests concern alleged capital gains on the transfer of Rolando Mandragora. According to the charges, in 2018 Juventus sold the player to Udinese with a buy-back option set at 20 million euros. In reality, the agreements between the two companies provided for an irrevocable repurchase obligation on the part of the Turin club. Mandragora actually returned to Juventus two years later. According to the prosecution, the operation would have generated a capital gain of over 3 million euros for Udinese and allowed for the evasion of over 400 thousand euros in IRES. For this reason, the two managers and the club are charged with the crimes of false corporate communication, fraudulent declaration and IRES evasion. Campoccia's defense asked for acquittal because the fact does not exist. The positions of Soldati and Udinese will be discussed on 15 September, the date on which the sentence is also expected.
