Utrecht's new coach, Anthony Correia, has a very intense physical preparation in mind for his players. The goal is to make matches easier for players through very hard training. Correia declared: "I want the matches to be easy for my players, so we have to train hard, hard, hard. Training where you have to sweat, where you have to work hard, so that when you go on the pitch on Saturday or Sunday everything is easier. This is my goal and for this reason we will train in this way." The coach also declared that his players will have to be ready for anything, even enormous efforts: "I want my players to be ready for anything. I want them to be ready to run 13 or 14 kilometers in a match, I want them to be ready to fight for every ball, to win every duel, I want them to be ready for everything. And if someone is not ready for that, then they shouldn't be in my team." Correia's philosophy of training and preparing players has already been seen in his previous experiences as a coach, such as the one at Groningen, where his players suffered many injuries due to an excessive workload. Now all that remains is to see whether Utrecht's players will also tolerate this type of preparation and whether it will bring the desired results, i.e. making the matches easier for its players.
