In recent years, Portuguese midfielder Vitinha has experienced a real metamorphosis. Today, at 25, he has become a key player for Paris Saint-Germain, contributing decisively to two consecutive Champions League triumphs and numerous national titles. His career took an unexpected turn after an unsuccessful loan spell at Wolverhampton, where he struggled to find space and prove his worth.

Vitinha joined Porto's academy in 2011, making his first-team debut in January 2020. His season with Porto was promising, but due to the club's financial problems, he was loaned out to Wolves with a £17 million purchase option. Despite expectations, his experience in the Premier League was disappointing, limited to just 22 appearances and scoring just one goal in the EFL Cup against Chorley.

After a difficult year, Vitinha returned to Porto, where he found his dimension, contributing to the victory of the Primeira Liga and the Taça de Portugal, and earning the title of Best Young Footballer of the Year. His performance led to him being called up to the senior national team in March 2022. In 2022, he signed a five-year contract with PSG for £34 million. Although his first year in Paris was complicated, with the game too focused on stars like Messi and Mbappé, his talent emerged under the management of Luis Enrique, who changed the team's tactical approach.

Over the course of the last season, Vitinha has shone, becoming the engine of PSG's midfield, completing more passes than any other player during the Champions League campaign, and providing an assist in the final against Inter Milan, contributing to an incredible 5-0 victory. His efforts saw him earn third place at the Ballon d'Or, behind Yamal and teammate Ousmane Dembélé. His growth also continues at international level, making him a key element in the Portuguese national team that aims to compete for the World Cup victory.
