Fiorentina has defined the arrival of a new player: it is the Brazilian Viery (21 years old), arriving from Gremio with a permanent offer worth around 15 million euros. Central defender, he will be yet another green and gold player to wear the lily shirt. What are the 10 most important in Viola history?

The 10 most iconic Brazilians in the history of Fiorentina:

Julinho (1955-1958): Legendary right winger, played a fundamental role in winning the first historic Viola Scudetto in 1956.

Amarildo (1963-1967): Arriving after winning the 1962 World Cup with Brazil, he became an icon loved by the fans in Florence. Extraordinary talent, a true icon.

Socrates (1984-1985): One of the most iconic and charismatic midfielders in the history of football, he played a season in the purple shirt. His figure transcends that of a simple footballer.

Dunga (1988-1992): Charismatic midfielder and captain, arrived from Pisa: he led the lily midfield for four seasons before becoming World Champion in 1994.

Mazinho (1991-1992): Phosphorus and geometric midfielder. He played just one season in Florence before moving to Palmeiras and winning the 1994 World Cup with Brazil as a regular starter.

Marcio Santos (1994-1995): Central defender who arrived in Florence immediately after the triumph at the USA '94 World Cup. He failed to confirm the World Cup premises and promises, with which too many 'smooths'.

Edmundo (1997-1999): Acrobatic and brilliant striker, who went down in history as O'Animal. Cross and delight, including the Carnival in the year of the Batistuta crack.

Adriano (2002): Short but intense. The Emperor was a very young crack, 15 appearances and 6 goals in a horrible year for Fiorentina. He gave a glimpse of his immense talents before finally exploding.

Felipe Melo (2008-2009): Combative, technical midfielder with a strong character. One of the most 'intense' presences of the 2000s in the purple shirt. Sold for weight in gold to Juventus.

Dodò (2022-2026): Arrived from Shakhtar Donetsk, he turned into a very starter. It could become the summer of farewell.
