Lazio have officially announced the signing of Alfonso Pedraza as a free agent, after the left-back's contract with Villarreal expired. The offensive defender turned 30 in April and, according to rumours, he had already reached a personal agreement with the Biancoceleste club in January, committing himself to the future with Lazio. Today, Lazio announced that Pedraza has signed a contract valid until June 2029 and will immediately be available to the new coach Gennaro Gattuso for the start of pre-season training. Pedraza has made just one appearance for Spain, obtained in October 2023, and has 233 appearances in LaLiga, with 14 goals and 30 assists to his name. With Villarreal he won the Europa League in the 2020-21 season and before that he was part of the Spanish national team that triumphed in the Under-19 and Under-21 European Championships.
