On Wednesday evening, Oscar Gloukh shone with the Israel national team, scoring the decisive goal against Albania in a friendly between two teams not qualified for the 2026 World Cup. The match seemed destined to end goalless until Gloukh seized the opportunity in the 73rd minute, accelerating down the left and beating the opposing goalkeeper with a precise shot.

In Italy, the team faced Luxembourg with a very young lineup, the youngest since 1912, with an average age of 21 years and 354 days. Despite the less than stellar performance, the Azzurri took home the victory thanks to Francesco Pio Esposito's header from a corner, which scored the winning goal.

The Democratic Republic of Congo, in retreat in Belgium due to the Ebola epidemic, drew 0-0 against Denmark in an emotionless friendly. Furthermore, Nigeria and Poland, also excluded from the World Cup, put on a thrilling match. Nigeria took the lead with a goal from Moses Simon, but Poland equalized just before half-time. In the final minutes, Paul Onuachu gave Nigeria the lead again with a penalty, but Przemysław Wiśniewski scored a spectacular goal to equalise.
