Pro Vercelli, Delechat on Sow: "Symbol of our work. Offer too important to say no"
The president of Pro Vercelli, Ludovic Deléchat, commented on the sale of Asane Sow to Basel, highlighting the growth of the youth sector and the importance of the transaction for the club.
The president of Pro Vercelli, Ludovic Deléchat, spoke about the sale of Asane Sow to Basel, defining it as "the most profitable transfer of the club in Serie C" and a concrete example of the growth of the Piedmontese youth sector. Deléchat said: "When Bridge Football Group acquired Pro Vercelli, we clearly explained what our vision was: to build an ambitious and sustainable Club, capable of creating value on and off the pitch through the development of young talents. Asane's transfer represents one of the most concrete examples of the work carried out by the Club and Bridge Football Group in recent months."
The president also revealed that Sow could have left as early as January, as significant offers had arrived from clubs in the Swiss Super League: "We had already received important offers in the January transfer window. However, we decided to reject them because we believed it was important for him to continue his growth path in Vercelli and contribute to the team's objectives until the end of the season."
Deléchat highlighted Sow's progress: "In recent months he has continued to work, improve and demonstrate his value. Today we believe that he has reached a level that allows him to take the next step in his career. The offer received directly from my Swiss colleagues at FC Basel, one of the most prestigious and successful clubs in Switzerland, was too important for the player and for the Club to be ignored."
Finally, he expressed pride in the journey made together and reiterated Pro Vercelli's commitment to enhancing young talents: "This transfer demonstrates that young talents can grow, establish themselves and reach important levels at Pro Vercelli through daily work and a clear sporting project. We want to continue to give opportunities to young talents, enhance them and create value for the Club and for our fans".
