Paul Pogba expresses confidence Manchester United can clinch the Premier League title within the next three years under manager Michael Carrick after a strong finish to last season.

Paul Pogba believes Manchester United can win the Premier League under Michael Carrick in the 'next three years'. The Red Devils saw marked improvement under Carrick after he replaced Ruben Amorim in January, finishing third in the campaign and securing Champions League qualification. Carrick have won 12 of their 17 Premier League matches (D3 L2), thus recording a win rate of 70.6%. Since Carrick's first game in charge – a 2-1 victory in the Manchester derby on 17 January – no team has won more games (12) or gained more points (39) in the competition than United. In fact, Carrick had the best points per game average of any Premier League manager in the 2025-26 season (2.29). It is also the best average of any United manager in a league season since Alex Ferguson's final campaign in 2012-13 (2.34). United had a disappointing start to the season in 2025-26, being eliminated in their first game in both the EFL Cup and FA Cup, and did not participate in European competition, having dropped out of the race for qualification after losing the Europa League final. Carrick was appointed permanent manager of the club last month, and Pogba is confident he can guide them to greater success and end the team's current 13-year title drought. "I played with him. I also had him as a coach," Pogba told talkSPORT. "When he arrived here, the team changed totally, and it will be a big test for him and the team next season. "I believe that Manchester United will win in the coming years. They will become Premier League champions. "If Arsenal can become champions, Manchester United will definitely become champions. It's a big statement… but I believe in it." When asked if he thought they could win the title in the next five years, Pogba replied: "Yes, I believe it. I probably say in the next three years, in the next three years, in my opinion. Yes, I think they can do it in the next three years."
