With the signing of Viergever, PEC Zwolle acquires an experienced defender who can be considered the replacement for Anselmo García MacNulty, who left on a free transfer for 1. FC Magdeburg. The player has a career full of experiences, having previously played for clubs such as Sparta Rotterdam, AZ, Ajax, PSV and Greuther Fürth. Since 2022 he was active in FC Utrecht.

“We are very happy to be able to add Nick to our squad,” commented technical director Gerry Hamstra. "He has impressive experience at national and international level and is one of the most experienced players in the Eredivisie. With his experience and leadership qualities, Nick will help us set high standards both on and off the pitch. We wish him much success at PEC Zwolle."
