Modric sides with Florentino's candidacy
Luka Modric has expressed his support for Florentino Pérez on the occasion of his candidacy to be re-elected president of Real Madrid, by publishing a message on social media.
Florentino Pérez continues to gather support for his bid to be re-elected president of Real Madrid in the elections to be held on 7 June. The latest to side in favor of Pérez was Luka Modric. The Croatian midfielder, who holds the record for trophies won with the Real Madrid shirt, wanted to express his support for the man who was its president from 2012 to 2025. Modric published a post on Instagram in which he appears embraced by Florentino Pérez during the medal award ceremony of the 2022 Champions League final in Paris. In the same image, the Croatian player added two white hearts, further demonstrating his affection towards Pérez. Modric's post adds to those of other illustrious former Real Madrid players. Last Wednesday, Karim Benzema also published a photo in which he appears together with Florentino, when the Frenchman received the Ballon d'Or. Other players such as Lucas Vázquez, Casemiro and Pepe also showed their support for the president. During a campaign event held last Wednesday, Roberto Carlos and Ronaldo Nazario also addressed words of affection to Florentino: «Presi, you are the best and you will always be the best». Basketball players such as Luka Doncic, Hugo González, Vincent Poirier, Fabian Causeur and Felipe Reyes also joined these demonstrations of affection.
