Tension is growing in Uruguay, a few days before the decisive group match against Spain at the World Cup. According to the Uruguayan media, there is strong discontent towards coach Marcelo Bielsa. A group of key players, including captain Federico Valverde, Manuel Ugarte, Rodrigo Bentancur and goalkeeper Sergio Rochet, have reportedly requested a meeting with Bielsa to express their concerns. The four players have reportedly indicated that they find the training sessions too intensive, fearing that the excessive workload could lead to tiredness and injuries. Furthermore, I don't agree with the game strategy planned for the match against Spain, suggesting that Uruguay should opt for a compact defensive block and try to attack on the counterattack, rather than maintaining high pressing. Bielsa, in response, summoned the entire team for a 48-minute speech. Diego Lugano, a former Uruguayan international, confirmed that there is concern about the lack of harmony between the coach and the players: "We are very worried about the lack of understanding between the coach and the players. During the press conference, Bielsa avoided addressing the voices of discontent, instead focusing on the importance of the next match: "We have to play against Spain with the need and obligation to win.
