Inter have entered into direct negotiations with Union Saint-Gilloise for Anan Khalaili and should be able to meet the request of 25 million euros plus 5 million add-ons, thus beating Napoli for his signature. The Neapolitans had been on the trail of the Israeli winger for some time, but Financial Fair Play restrictions mean they must first sell players before they can make new purchases. This delayed their progress and allowed Inter to present a new proposal for the same goal. Sky Sport Italia reports that the Nerazzurri have contacted Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise directly to discuss the transfer price. The deal can be concluded for 25 million euros plus a further 5 million in performance-related bonuses, with a relatively affordable salary for the winger. This is considerably cheaper than the €50 million Inter had set aside for Atalanta's Marco Palestra, considered the first choice to replace Real Madrid-bound Denzel Dumfries. Instead, Chelsea stepped in with an offer that was almost €10 million higher and doubled his personal terms. Khalaili will turn 22 in September and is a product of Maccabi Haifa's academy, before moving to Union Saint-Gilloise for €6.5 million in 2024. Last season, he contributed six goals and six assists in 52 competitive matches for the Belgian club, scoring in the Champions League against Olympique Marseille and Atalanta.
