Lineth Beerensteyn made a remarkable market operation. The 125-time Dutch international moves on a free transfer from VfL Wolfsburg to Real Madrid. The contract with the Spanish club will expire in mid-2029. Beerensteyn had an expiring contract in Germany and this season she scored nine goals in the Bundesliga, while the previous year she was the tournament's top scorer with sixteen goals. In total, in his 63 official matches, the attacker scored 34 goals. Before joining Wolfsburg, Beerensteyn played for Juventus, Bayern Munich, FC Twente and ADO Den Haag. This season, Real Madrid finished in second place in La Liga, seventeen points behind Barcelona. In the Champions League, Real was eliminated by its bitter rival; the first leg ended with a heavy defeat of 6-2, while the return match in Barcelona was even worse: 6-0.
