Although Van de Ven is a player appreciated by many Liverpool fans, Steele has tried to debunk the idea that there is concrete and advanced interest in the player. “We've heard about Van de Ven, but it doesn't seem like there are any significant developments,” Steele said, noting that the attention could come from outside pressure, such as from the player's agent.
Davis mentioned some rumors linking Liverpool to Van de Ven, also quoting well-known transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who denied those claims. Steele added that although Liverpool are in need of a centre-back, this specific link is not active. "There is no doubt that they need a central defender, but there is no news on Van de Ven."
Discussion then moved on to other names in the defensive sector, including Crystal Palace's Max Lacroix, for whom Steele said there had been no rejections, but no recent confirmations either. Liverpool's defensive situation remains uncertain, with the absence of some key figures and the need to assess how the new signings will integrate into the Premier League.
