McInnes' arrival on the Rangers bench: fans' reactions

Rangers fans share mixed views on the arrival of Derek McInnes as new manager, with some seeing great potential in him, while others are skeptical of his ability to handle the pressures of the club.

Rangers fans have expressed their opinions on the arrival of Derek McInnes as new manager, following the departure of Danny Rohl. Here's what some of them said:

Heather: "A true Rangers man. McInnes is in the same vein as the great Walter Smith. I've never been so excited for a Rangers team or season in years. On to the 2026/27 season!"

Kenneth: "Well, he won't last long at Rangers, as it's a different club, team and set of expectations. Rangers are expected to win, while Hearts are expected to play to win. I doubt he'll get to Christmas. He'll be sacked because that's the fate of Rangers."


Matthew: "Perfect appointment. He seems exactly what we need, and his Scottish and Rangers identity is what we've been waiting for. He's shown in Scottish football that he can get the most out of his players and that he's tactically sharp. It's the most optimistic moment I've had in a long time."

John: "Thanks to Rohl for his work and efforts. He seemed to be a good man and I wish him the best in his development. We now have a Scottish manager and a Rangers man. Personally, I would like to see a team with a strong Scottish core, the difficulty is getting rid of those who are no longer needed. If we can do that, we will have a leaner squad and the means to concentrate spending. I can't wait."

Michael: "Definitely the right man for the job and I hope the fans are patient with him. I think he will start off on the right foot, but with so many changes in the squad, there may still be teething problems, but McInnes will sort it out given some transfer markets."

Dave: "Third manager in 12 months, it's time someone got a chance to work. Let's lower expectations of immediate success and build a good team. Only then can Rangers hope to realistically contend. I think McInnes could be the man to do it.
