Provedel's agency confirms the agreement with Inter: 'He has always been a fan'

Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel is close to joining Inter, with a low-cost deal being finalized. Provedel has agreed to a three-year contract and will replace the departing Yann Sommer.

Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel's agency has confirmed that his client is close to a transfer to Inter: "We are very close, he has always been an Inter fan." According to various reports in Italy, the Nerazzurri are in the final negotiations to close the agreement with Lazio for Provedel and hope to exchange documents with the Biancocelesti in the next few days. According to the latest information from Gianluca Di Marzio, Provedel has accepted a three-year contract, which would take him to 35 years, with a salary of around 1.5 million per season. The two clubs would have reached a verbal agreement for a fee of just 3 million for Provedel, who would otherwise have his contract expire at the Olympic Stadium next season. “We are very close, we are working in the right direction,” said Provedel's agent, Gianni Rava. "I hope we can close this transfer as soon as possible. Let's hope for the best." Rava then added: "Provedel has always been an Inter fan and I think it would be the closing of a circle for him in his career. He is a great goalkeeper and will come here to put his cards on the table, we'll see. We're confident." Inter will sign Provedel to replace the departing Yann Sommer, who has been the club's first-choice goalkeeper for the last three seasons. The 37-year-old will leave the club at the end of June when his contract expires. The Nerazzurri had approached more expensive first choice goalkeepers, such as the Tottenham vicar, but then decided to focus on their second goalkeeper, the recent signing Martinez, and to take an experienced option already proven in Serie A such as Provedel.
