Former Juventus goalkeeper Dino Zoff is enthusiastic about the rumors linking the Juventus club with Aston Villa's Emiliano Martinez. The Argentine goalkeeper was linked to Juventus after contributing to the Villans' victory in the Europa League, who beat Sevilla in the final. Martinez, in fact, had previously been linked to Manchester United, but in the end he decided to stay at Aston Villa. Since joining the Villans from Arsenal in 2020, only Ederson (70), Alisson (69), David Raya (68) and Jordan Pickford (61) have recorded more clean sheets than Martinez (60) in the Premier League. Furthermore, the 33-year-old Argentine has made the second most saves (625) and saved the most penalties (5) in this period. Martinez's contract with Aston Villa expires in June 2029, but there is talk of a possible transfer to Juventus. Zoff believes it would be an excellent move for the Bianconeri, although there are some doubts about the goalkeeper's behaviour. Mattia Perin, on the other hand, played 9 Serie A matches, but had difficulty guaranteeing reliable performances.
