PFC CSKA veteran Dmitry Kuznetsov expressed his opinions regarding the results of the Uzbek national team during the 2026 World Cup. In the previous match, Uzbekistan suffered a heavy defeat against Portugal, with a score of 0-5. "It was clear that Uzbekistan had practically no chance against Portugal, although there are always set pieces and lucky goals. The Portuguese went onto the pitch motivated, aware of the importance of scoring and winning, since a draw in the first match was not in their plans. Uzbekistan, in their first World Cup, did not show an adequate level of play, with the exception of Shomurodov and Khuusonov, although the latter contributed to the goals conceded. Hence the result: not they managed to keep up, they attacked in a timid way. Of course, there was no point in calling Cannavaro. Whatever the training process was, whether you won the Ballon d'Or or not, it all depends on the material available, on the level of the players. Cannavaro didn't have this material," Kuznecov said in an interview with "Championat" journalist Aleksandr Ershov.
