Historic Liverpool champion Sir Kenny Dalglish has revealed he is being treated for cancer after an incident on social media. The club expressed its support and affection for the former footballer.

Sir Kenny Dalglish confirmed on Tuesday that he is currently undergoing treatment for cancer. Liverpool's Scottish icon has made his diagnosis public after making a mistake on social media.
75-year-old Dalglish is still active on social media and recently accidentally posted a photo of a document confirming a hospital appointment. Although he quickly removed the photo, the situation sparked much speculation in the British media, forcing him to clarify his situation. “Ideally, this should have been kept private, as it should be, but my poor technological skills have forced me to talk about it. Unlike my phone use, the treatment is going well,” Dalglish demonstrated a remarkable sense of humor at a difficult time.

Dalglish, seen in the photo alongside Liverpool icon Ian Rush, played for Liverpool from 1977 to 1990, winning the European Cup three times and the English Championship eight times. He also collected trophies with Celtic. Subsequently, he served as manager of Liverpool (twice) and is currently a member of the board.
Liverpool expressed their support, best wishes and affection to Sir Kenny and his family, underlining the former footballer's request for privacy during this difficult phase of his life.
