Roy Keane and Bruno Fernandes put aside their differences after a phone call. Keane had criticized Fernandes for his focus on personal performance, but now all has been clarified.

Roy Keane has clarified his position with Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes. Keane reportedly said the pair had a 'good talk' after Fernandes accused him of spreading lies.
In a previous interview, Keane suggested that Fernandes was more focused on his own individual successes rather than the team's collective achievement. In particular, Keane had highlighted how the Portuguese had been at the center of a 'circus act' during the home match against Nottingham Forest (3-2), dedicating himself to breaking the record for assists in a single Premier League season. Fernandes, in fact, surpassed the record of Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne, reaching his twentieth assist in the last match against Brighton & Hove Albion.

After the match, Fernandes said that in some situations he could have kicked on goal but had chosen to pass the ball to a teammate to increase the number of assists. This mentality, according to Keane, is not a winning one. Fernandes, affected by the criticism, had communicated in a podcast that he could accept the criticism, but not the lies.
Now, after their talk, Keane said on the 'Stick to Football' podcast: "It was a good, mature conversation. When you're on a podcast or analyzing a match, sometimes you realize that what you say isn't always interpreted in the right way, which can lead to negative reactions. Bruno wanted to talk, and I think it was a good thing for both of us. I'm not someone who wants to call players or their agents every week, but there's been a lot of talk on this topic. Bruno is a very important player for Manchester United. The conversation was helpful for both of us."
