Jomaine Consbruch is Fortuna Düsseldorf's first summer signing

Fortuna Düsseldorf have announced the signing of Jomaine Consbruch, who arrives on a free transfer from Greuther Fürth. The midfielder has signed a contract until 30 June 2029 and will wear the number 14 shirt.

After relegation to the 3. Liga, Fortuna Düsseldorf is working hard to strengthen the squad for the new season. The Rhenans have just signed Jomaine Consbruch, who leaves Greuther Fürth to join the club. Consbruch arrived in Düsseldorf after a difficult period for the team, who suffered a 3–0 defeat against Fürth on their last match day, a result which marked their direct relegation.

Jomaine Consbruch, a 24-year-old midfielder, is moving for free and has signed a contract until 30 June 2029, taking up the number 14 shirt. "With Jomaine we get a versatile midfielder, known for his security in possession and game intelligence," said sporting director Samir Arabi, calling him an "important piece to our puzzle".

Consbruch expressed enthusiasm for his new role, saying, “I am happy to be here and I am very motivated for this challenge.” He added that conversations with the managers immediately gave him a good feeling: "I can't wait to take to the pitch for the first time in front of the fans and I believe that my active and emotional playing style suits the club well. I am convinced that the move to Fortuna is the right step for me."

Consbruch's journey as a professional began at Arminia Bielefeld, passing through Eintracht Braunschweig and returning to Bielefeld, before landing at Greuther Fürth. In the last three years, he has made 66 appearances for Kleeblatt, including 17 in the season just ended, mostly as a substitute. Although his contract was expiring, it was not renewed, allowing him to move to Fortuna at no cost.
