Johann Lepenant (23) is expected to leave relegated FC Nantes this summer, Foot Mercato reports. FC Lorient is very interested in welcoming the former French youth international, the publication adds. Lepenant has shone at Nantes since arriving, initially on loan from Olympique Lyon in 2024. His move was made permanent for a modest fee of just over €2.5m last summer. However, the Canaries have experienced a difficult season and will therefore play in Ligue 2 next season. Now, it is expected to leave Beaujoire, but may remain in the region. Despite Nantes' difficulties, Lepenant maintains a great reputation and there is interest, particularly in France and specifically from Lorient. The interest of the Breton club is very strong and they have already shown a concrete interest in negotiations with the midfielder's entourage. Lepenant's contract at Beaujoire expires in the summer of 2029, which puts Nantes in a strong position to negotiate. Despite the relegation, they could prove to be difficult negotiators.
