The team has maintained an impressive unbeaten run, which is crucial to their title bid against Persepolis. This success reflects a winning mentality that could influence the next matches and the morale of the team.
Key Points
- Unstoppable Independence: Independence holds its own.
- Independence with a victory against Gol Gahar continues its unbeaten streak and continues to chase Persepolis at the top of the standings.
- Sohrab is not a loser to anyone, even a dear friend!.
Independence coach Sohrab Bakhtiari Zadeh preserved his team's unbeaten record for the 11th consecutive match this season in both domestic and Asian competitions. The match between Independence and Gol Gahar Sirjan, on the ninth matchday of the Premier League, was not only a crucial match to consolidate the Azzurri's position in the title race, but also a fascinating duel between two former Independence teammates and captains, Bakhtiari Zadeh and Seyed Mehdi Rahmati, both on the bench. In the end, the match ended with a strategic and well-planned victory for the Azzurri.
Under the leadership of Bakhtiari Zadeh, Independence has become a robust team, tactically disciplined and difficult to overcome. With this home victory, the team continued its extraordinary journey in national competitions, remaining undefeated. Thanks to five wins and four draws in the first nine matchdays, Independence has reached 19 points, maintaining the title of the only team without defeat in the Premier League, while continuing to chase Persepolis, currently at the top of the table. This shows that Independence has been able to acquire, in the best possible way, the mentality of a team aiming for the title.
In addition to their successes in the Premier League, Bakhtiari and his team's record in the Asian Champions League is equally impressive. So far, the Azzurri have achieved two consecutive victories in the first two weeks of the group stage, beating Qatari teams Al Sadd and Al Gharafa. This led to a total of eleven consecutive matches without defeat under Bakhtiari's management. Since he sat on the Independence bench, he has never tasted defeat in official competitions.
It should be noted that, until early last week, only one other manager in the Premier League had managed to maintain an unbeaten record, namely Aluminum Arak's Pirooz Ghorbani, who had kept pace with Bakhtiari until matchday seven. However, Aluminum suffered a defeat against Fajr Shahid Sepasi in the eighth match, thus breaking their unbeaten streak. Bakhtiari Zadeh, however, continued his streak for the ninth consecutive match in the Premier League and the eleventh overall of the season.
What happens now
With Independence continuing to chase Persepolis, Bakhtiari Zadeh and his players are expected to maintain their current form in the upcoming Iran Premier League matches. The next challenges will be crucial to test their resilience and determination. Furthermore, their performance in the Asian Champions League could further raise the team's profile in the Iranian football landscape.
