The Netherlands beat Sweden 5-1 in today's first match for the World Cup group stage. After a first half marked by Brobbey's brace, the Oranje took off further in the second half with Gakpo imitating his teammate. Elanga shortened Roma's goal, before the final five signed by Summerville.

The summer transfer market hasn't officially started yet but rumors and indiscretions have been going crazy for some time. One of these would like Real Madrid ready to launch an assault for Michael Olise from Bayern Munich. A scenario that the Blancos themselves, however, have denied through an official statement: "In light of the information that has appeared in various media on an alleged interest of our club in the Bayern Munich player Michael Olise, Real Madrid C.F. wishes to declare that it has not had any direct or indirect contact with the aforementioned player, his representatives or people in his entourage. Real Madrid also wishes to underline the excellent institutional relationship it maintains with Bayern Munich, with which it shares a long history of mutual respect, collaboration and admiration, and regrets the spread of speculations that do not correspond to reality."

Farewell to Venezia and Serie A for the lagoon captain Michael Svoboda. We are now close to the transfer to Brighton, a Premier League club ready to pay the 5 million euro termination clause. The Austrian centre-back has already agreed the terms of his new contract.

Livorno said its final farewell to Igor Protti, former captain and icon of the Tuscan club. 10,000 gathered in the late afternoon at the Armando Picchi stadium, where the coffin made a lap of the pitch. Numerous former teammates came to commemorate Protti, including Marco Amelia, Fabio Galante and Alessandro Diamanti, as well as the brothers Cristiano and Alessandro Lucatelli, who crossed the field in the funeral parade together with the mayor Luca Salvetti.
