Arsenal goalkeeper Manuela Zinsberger has signed a three-year contract with Borussia Dortmund. The news was made official by the German club with a post on its X profile (formerly Twitter) this afternoon. The thirty-year-old Austrian goalkeeper will join the "Wasps" at the end of October, when her contract with Arsenal expires. Zinsberger, who previously played for Bayern Munich, joined Arsenal in 2019, quickly becoming a point of reference for the team and the fans. With the Gunners she made 143 appearances, also winning the UEFA Women's Champions League and two Women's League Cups. Zinsberger joins a Borussia Dortmund team that is investing heavily in its women's sector, with the aim of reaching the top of German football. Founded in 2021, the BVB women's team aims to win trophies and gain promotion to the Frauen-Bundesliga. Next season the women's Borussia Dortmund will participate in the Regionalliga, but they are considered favorites to win the championship and therefore for promotion to the Zweite Frauen-Bundesliga.
