Columnist Nico Dijkshoorn expresses his frustration with the monotonous matches of the World Cup and wants more excitement. This column comes from the weekly VI. Just before we look at another week of inconclusive group games, I want to say something about the emotion you feel when a football team, like Curaçao, manages to collect a point with great difficulty. For me it's like crying with joy when you see your letter published in the Donald Duck. It's not a novel, but it's still impressive to see your text in a print magazine. You buy thirty to give to your family. This little thing hovers around the draw in Curaçao. There are other teams who already know they have to thank some god for returning home without suffering too humiliating defeats. When they return, they will be welcomed as heroes. Dick Advocaat will be sculpted in bronze for eternity – on a small pedestal – in every square in Curaçao. It's very convenient, in fact. With the material needed to make one statue of Virgil van Dijk, you could make six statues of Dick Advocaat.
