Chelsea are considering Jacobo Ramon, a defender from Como, to strengthen their squad with a new centre-back in this transfer window.

Chelsea are interested in Como defender Jacobo Ramon. The 21-year-old is one of several names under consideration as the club explores its options for a new centre-back this summer. Crystal Palace's Maxence Lacroix has been one of Chelsea's top targets, with three or four other players also on the list, The Athletic reported in Tuesday's Transfer DealSheet.
Ramon made 37 appearances in all competitions for Como last season, under former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, helping them finish fourth in Serie A and qualify for the Champions League for the first time in the club's history.

A product of Real Madrid's academy, Ramon made his first-team debut in January 2025, coming on as a substitute in a 5-1 Champions League win against Red Bull Salzburg. He made five further appearances for Madrid, scoring his first goal in a 2-1 win against Mallorca last May, before joining Como last summer for €2.5 million.
Madrid maintain a 50% sell-back clause in any future deal for the defender, as well as a buy-back clause. Ramon previously worked with new Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso in 2018-19, when the former Spanish midfielder began his coaching career in Madrid's academy.
Chelsea are looking to add a centre-back this transfer window, with Trevoh Chalobah the subject of inquiries from teams in England and abroad, although the club holds him in high regard and is in no rush to sell him. The futures of Wesley Fofana, Benoit Badiashile, Tosin Adarabioyo and Mamadou Sarr could also depend on the arrival of a new centre-back and whether they agree to move down the Stamford Bridge hierarchy. There is also interest from other teams in right-back Malo Gusto, although Chelsea are not looking to sell him, valuing him at around £75 million.
