Barcelona could face two significant squad changes this summer, with Marc Casado and Marcus Rashford both facing uncertain futures at the club. According to senior transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Catalan giants are actively evaluating options involving both players as they continue to work on their summer plans.

If the situations are very different, the outcome could ultimately be the same, with neither player guaranteed to be part of Hansi Flick's squad for next season. Starting with Casado, the La Masia product has been seen as one of the academy's success stories, but the truth is that Barcelona have no space to guarantee him consistent minutes. Right now, the midfielder is among the players who could generate valuable income for the club due to his status as an academy player. Any disposal would represent a net profit from an accounting perspective, making it an attractive asset should a suitable offer arrive. At the moment, Casado has several opportunities available across Europe, while clubs in Saudi Arabia are also monitoring his situation. His representative, Jorge Mendes, is working to identify the most attractive option, which means that the next few weeks could be very decisive.

On the other hand, Rashford's situation seems to be more advanced. After spending the season on loan at Barcelona, the English forward had a productive campaign, recording 14 goals and 14 assists in all competitions. Those numbers led many to believe that Barcelona would activate the €30 million buyout clause included in the deal with Manchester United. However, the club chose not to activate the option. This decision means that Rashford is currently expected to return to Manchester United once his loan officially ends. Interestingly, this doesn't mean Rashford is completely out of Barcelona's plans though, as the Catalan club remain interested in exploring alternative formulas that could make a deal financially viable. One option under consideration is to negotiate a new loan deal with Manchester United, rather than committing to a permanent move this summer. Such a deal would allow Barcelona to keep an experienced striker without making a large initial investment.
