The world of football is in mourning: today the news of the death of Igor Protti, who had been battling a serious illness for some time. There are many moving testimonies from those who shared battles, victories, defeats or even just one significant moment with him, a sign of what kind of imprint he left on his journey. Among them also Pietro Parente, who shared the dressing room with Protti in three different moments: two seasons at Bari, plus a part of the year at Livorno. A great person, both on and off the pitch. A truly, truly exceptional person", explains Parente. Then he adds, with deep emotion: "Igor was a man from another era, with values from another era that are not reflected in today's football. Good, generous, available to everyone, humble. It's not me who says all this, but it was he who demonstrated every day what kind of man Igor was. I'm truly, very, very sorry. I will always have beautiful memories of him. At this moment I would like to send a big hug, above all to his family."
