"We're coming!". This is the message that the Ghana fans sent to the England supporters ahead of the preparation match for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, scheduled for Thursday 17 November at Wembley Stadium. In Accra, the capital of Ghana, some fans shared with the BBC their impressions of the match and, in particular, which players could be decisive for the team's success. Many, including a supporter who calls herself 'Mother Ghana', have expressed total confidence in the victory of the Black Stars, also based on the performances that the Ghanaian players are having with their clubs. Here are some of the statements collected by the BBC:

  • "I think we will win. We have to win! The players are all well, they are playing in their clubs, and I think this is a good opportunity for us to beat England."
  • "I think we will win 2-1. They will definitely score against us, but we will score more. I think Kudus will score and Inaki Williams too."
  • "I think it will be a very difficult match, but we will win 2-0. Our defenders are very strong, they won't let the English attackers pass, and we will score two goals."
  • "For me it will be a great opportunity to see my team win against England, a great team, in a historic stadium like Wembley. And for this reason I want the match to be won, to be able to tell it to my grandchildren, to my great-grandchildren, that I was there when Ghana won against England at Wembley".
