FC Groningen is interested in Go Ahead Eagles captain Joris Kramer as a replacement for the departing Dies Janse. The club has already submitted an offer, but Go Ahead deems it inadequate.

FC Groningen has targeted Joris Kramer, the 29-year-old captain of Go Ahead Eagles, to strengthen its squad for next season. The Dutch club has made a first attempt to acquire the defender, who is considered a possible replacement for Dies Janse, who will return to Amsterdam after a year on loan from Ajax.
Janse's performance was highly appreciated, so much so that Groningen looks favorably on his experience at the club. However, Janse's departure has put technical director Mo Allach in the position of having to look for a new left defender. In this context, Kramer is seen as an interesting option.

Kramer, who received the captain's armband following Mats Deijl's transfer to Feyenoord, is an experienced defender capable of leading the team. However, the interest in him doesn't just come from Groningen; several clubs, both national and international, are following the situation.
Although Groningen made an offer, the proposed figure was not deemed adequate enough by Go Ahead Eagles, who do not intend to sell their captain without fair compensation. The company is aware of Kramer's ambition to make a qualitative leap in his career, but at the same time has no intention of letting him go easily. Furthermore, Go Ahead is also considering the possibility of losing other players such as Jari De Busser and Jakob Breum.
In an interview with VI, Kramer said he preferred to stay in the Netherlands rather than move abroad, especially for the sake of his family, highlighting the bond with his four-year-old daughter.
