Ousmane Dembélé was the great protagonist on Friday evening, contributing decisively to France's victory with a hat-trick against Norway, thus guaranteeing first place in the World Cup group. After the match, Dembélé preferred not to dwell too much on his individual successes.

The match between Norway and France was expected to be one of the most fascinating of the group stage, with the Norwegians considered one of the possible surprises, thanks to stars such as Erling Haaland and Martin Ødegaard. On the other hand, France were seen as the big favourites, with a squad of superior quality. However, the match was not as competitive as expected; Norwegian coach Ståle Solbakken decided to spare some of his best players, leaving Haaland and Ødegaard on the bench. This made the task easier for the French, with Dembélé showing off with an exceptional performance.

"It was an important match to finish first in the group. We want to win every match and we remain focused on what awaits us, which will certainly be more difficult," said Dembélé, avoiding dwelling too much on his personal performance.

Despite being the recent Ballon d'Or winner, Dembélé had received criticism earlier in the tournament when he played as an attacking midfielder. However, after coach Didier Deschamps moved him to the right flank, his performance improved significantly, silencing his detractors.

France, now considered one of the favourites, have a formidable forward line of Dembélé, Michael Olise, Kylian Mbappé and Désiré Doué, and Dembélé has highlighted how communication between them is improving. "The communication between the attackers is getting better and better, we understand each other more and more, so it's positive. Now we have to continue on this path."

In the next stage, France will face the third-placed team from Group C or D, namely Scotland or Paraguay. If they win, their chances of facing Germany in the round of 16 appear strong, with the possibility of a meeting with the Netherlands in the quarter-finals.
