Declan Rice said last season, which ended with Arsenal winning the title, was "mentally difficult" but he now feels in a "very good space" ahead of the World Cup match against Ghana. The midfielder has already made 63 appearances for Arsenal and the national team this season and, in last Thursday's match against Croatia, he was replaced as a precaution. Rice revealed to ITV Sport that he has been playing with "neural pain" in his hamstrings since the start of the year, but insists he is able to handle the number of games he has had to participate in. Furthermore, the Arsenal midfielder is expected to make his 75th appearance for the national team in tomorrow's match. "I have been very lucky to play in Europe for the last six years - explained Rice - the last three seasons with West Ham and the first three with Arsenal, my body has been conditioned and built for these moments, to face long seasons. "This season, however, I consider it more difficult mentally than physically. The emotions of a footballer are incredible, the feelings and emotions that you go through during a season are fluctuating and you have to find a balance. "Right now I feel very calm mentally and physically I'm fine, I want to carry all this until the end of the tournament."
