Davide Ancelotti is the new manager of Lille

Davide Ancelotti has been appointed as Lille's new manager, marking his first experience in Europe after a spell with high-profile clubs and the Brazil national team.

Lille have formalized the hiring of Davide Ancelotti as the new first team coach. For the Italian coach, this is the first experience in Europe as a head coach, after the previous adventure at Botafogo in Brazil. Ancelotti succeeds Paulo Fonseca and has signed a two-year contract. The French club wanted to present him with an official statement which reads: "LOSC today announced the appointment of Davide Ancelotti as first team coach. The 36-year-old Italian coach, who has worked with some of the most important clubs and national teams in the world, has signed a two-year contract. (...) Described as a tireless worker and an exemplary professional, Davide Ancelotti embodies the new generation of coaches with a modern tactical approach, which uses science to optimize performances. His natural authority and sports management skills, particularly in the psychological field, have made him a respected leader, known for his calm and humanity. Furthermore, his fluent knowledge of Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German and English facilitates communication within the dressing room. LOSC is delighted to welcome Davide Ancelotti ahead of the 2026-2027 season, which will see the merger of Ligue 1 and UEFA. Champions League.
