Charlton Athletic have officially completed the purchase of centre-back Billy Koumetio from Dundee for an undisclosed fee. The 23-year-old French defender has signed a four-year contract with the Championship club, marking his return to England following his spell with Liverpool. Koumetio told Charlton's official website: "Manager Nathan Jones spoke to me about the vision he has for the club and the players. From that day, when I spoke to him, I knew this was the best choice for my career." BBC Sport Scotland reported on Tuesday that Dundee had accepted offers for Koumetio and defender Luke Graham, who have left the club's training camp in Hungary. Koumetio has now completed his move to Charlton, having made 44 appearances in all competitions for the Scottish Premiership club. During his time at Liverpool, he spent a short spell on loan at Blackburn Rovers towards the end of the 2023-24 season, but never made any Championship appearances. Koumetio's only appearance for Liverpool came as a substitute in a Champions League match in December 2020, against FC Midtjylland, when he became the youngest player, at that time, to feature for Liverpool in the competition. Additionally, Koumetio becomes Charlton's second signing of the summer, after Slovakian defender Ivan Mesik arrived from Dutch club Heracles Almelo on Tuesday for an undisclosed fee.
