West Bromwich Albion have signed striker Barney Stewart from Scottish club Falkirk for an undisclosed fee. The 22-year-old joins the Baggies on a four-year contract, becoming manager James Morrison's first new signing this summer. Stewart made his debut for the Falkirk first team in January 2025, playing 15 matches as the club achieved promotion from the Second Division to the Scottish Premiership. During a loan spell at Dunfermline Athletic in the first half of last season, he scored eight goals in 12 games, before returning to Falkirk and scoring 10 goals in 21 league and cup games. Stewart, a Scotland Under-21 international, said the fact his new manager, Morrison, has made 46 caps for his country was an important factor in his decision to move. "I had a good chat with the manager. He's won a lot of caps for Scotland and has a lot of contacts, so he knows a lot about me," Stewart told the club website. "I'm very excited about the challenge of playing in the Championship. It's one of the best leagues in the world to watch. Being part of this division will be incredible. I live in the penalty area, that's my specialty. I'm very confident I can score here at Albion.
