FC Barcelona has issued an official statement calling for action to be taken against Florentino Pérez. Barça has formally requested the RFEF, La Liga and the CTA to intervene against the president of Real Madrid for his statements made on 12 and 13 May regarding the famous "Negreira case".
The club's statement reads: "The president of FC Barcelona, Rafael Yuste, and Abel, today sent a formal letter to the presidents of LaLiga, Javier Tebas; of the Real Federación Española de Fútbol (RFEF), Rafael Louzán; and of the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA), Francisco Soto, regarding the statements made by the president of Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez, in various public appearances on the 12th and May 13. FC Barcelona considers that these statements, in addition to being false, seriously undermine the honor and image of the First Division championship, as well as the entire refereeing body, damaging the reputation and credibility of Spanish professional football. The Club urges the co-organizers of the competition and the referees to defend the reputation of their institutions, just as the Club has recently done by submitting the conciliation request, and asks the recipient bodies to urgently adopt, within their respective competences, the appropriate institutional and legal measures. against Mr. Pérez to defend the honor, integrity and prestige of the institutions they represent and the competitions they organize.
