Dusan Vlahovic said goodbye to Juventus after an inconclusive meeting with the management. Juventus now has to look for two new attackers to strengthen the offensive department.
The story between Juventus and Dusan Vlahovic has come to an end. After weeks of discussions and attempts to find a shared solution, the parties decided to separate. The meeting held on Tuesday between the Serbian striker's father and the Juventus management did not produce the desired effects. The economic gaps between supply and demand remained too wide and neither side wanted to make further progress. Juventus had its own financial line to respect, while the Serbian center forward was not willing to give up his demands. Hence the final decision to terminate the relationship. This closes an important chapter for the Juventus club, which will now have to plan the future without its number nine. Vlahovic's farewell represents a watershed for the technical project of the new Juventus. Now attention inevitably shifts to the market and the company's next moves.
Vlahovic's story in black and white. Dusan Vlahovic arrived at Juventus in January 2022 and the club's hope was that he could become the right striker to relaunch the team and bring it back to the top. In Turin, the Serbian center forward played 168 games with the Old Lady, scoring 68 goals and winning an Italian Cup. Important numbers, which however do not fully describe a parenthesis made up of ups and downs. His adventure at Juventus was in fact dotted with lights and shadows, with moments of great brilliance alternating with more complicated periods, in which he struggled to find continuity. The feeling throughout the environment was that, in the end, Vlahovic was unable to continuously support the weight of the Juventus attack, also due to the high expectations that have accompanied him since his arrival. The last season ended with ten goals scored and with a long period of stoppage which affected his performance. Luciano Spalletti would have liked to keep him in the new technical project, but in the end the club and the player's entourage were unable to reach an agreement to continue together. This marks the end of an important chapter in Juventus' recent history. A relationship that was born amidst great enthusiasm and very high expectations, but which never managed to take off definitively. There remain some heavy goals, high-level performances and the feeling that the potential expressed was less than imagined. Vlahovic and Juventus therefore say goodbye, leaving an inevitable bitter taste in the mouth for a story that seemed destined to bring satisfaction to everyone and which, after four years, ends with a decidedly bittersweet outcome.
Two attackers to look for and Comolli's next challenges. After Vlahovic's farewell, Juventus now finds itself needing to intervene decisively in the market to strengthen the offensive department. In fact, the Bianconeri will have to identify at least two new attackers capable of guaranteeing quality and continuity of scoring. One of the names that remains at the top of the list is that of Kolo Muani. Damien Comolli is ready to return to Paris Saint-Germain in the hope of achieving a different ending to that of last summer. At the same time, it will be interesting to understand how Luciano Spalletti will accept the club's choice to part ways with Vlahovic. The coach had in fact expressed his desire to continue the relationship with the Serbian striker and had asked for its renewal. Juventus, however, preferred not to increase the financial offer for the new contract. A position that inevitably led to a rupture between the parties. Now it will be necessary to evaluate whether this decision could generate new differences between the coach and Comolli. The first few weeks of the transfer market have already seen a significant slowdown with the halt to negotiations for Alisson. The Brazilian goalkeeper represented another of the requests made by Spalletti. For this reason, the management's next moves will be particularly significant. The summer transfer market will be decisive in understanding which direction the new Juventus project will take and what the balance will be between the club and the technical area.
