On 21 June 2023 Sandro Tonali said goodbye to Milan to go and play in the Premier League. More precisely at Newcastle, a club with a large fan base, without a huge pedigree like the Rossoneri one, but the need to raise cash was there. And it was even stronger than the declarations of love from the same midfielder who would later be disqualified for football betting. Yet, despite this unpleasant parenthesis, he has become one of the most loved in black and white. Now he can say goodbye. Tonali earns around 8 million euros per season plus bonuses - which increase to 9 - and Newcastle's valuation is (at least) 100 million after having spent 58.9 million to have him in the summer of 2024. This figure is official and is contained in the budget drawn up as of 30 June 2024 by Milan who then had to grant a 10% to Brescia. "The other player management costs, equal to 4,312 thousand Euros (149 thousand Euros in the 2022/2023 financial year) mainly include the sell on fee paid to Brescia Calcio in relation to the transfer of the player Sandro Tonali to Newcastle for 4,278 thousand Euros", bringing the amount received down to 54.6 million, but with a possible solidarity contribution of one million. A transfer that never pleased the Rossoneri fans, who hoped to have their midfield lord for some time to come, rather than selling him to the highest (only) bidder.
